Vera Geslin

She was born in Moscow, where she worked in the field of linguistics (teacher) and art (saxophonist, project manager).

From 2012 she studies musicology in France and participates in stage productions related to contemporary musical practice (symphony orchestra, chamber music, big band jazz, electroacoustic music, theater and dance).

In 2016 she obtains a professional master’s degree in International Cultural Management and assists James Giroudon, director of Grame (National Center for Music Creation in Lyon) for the development of international exhibitions of sound and interactive installations. She has also written a research thesis « Gesture, movement and new technologies in contemporary music through Light Music by Thierry De Mey ».

Currently Vera Geslin is a PhD student at the Passages XX-XXI laboratory at the University of Lyon 2. She is a speaker at international conferences and a teacher at the Faculty of Musicology. In her current thesis, she is interested in the process of writing multimodal pieces, in relation to the body and the machine (the new technologies), as well as the renewed notion of the creator and the performer.

As president of LiSiLoG Vera Geslin participates in the development of projects, in the production and representation of knowledge resulting from the innovative practices carried by the association.
